A study on brand design language

The Nike Hairdryer

For this project, I reimagined a hairdryer through the lens of Nike's iconic design language, integrating their signature aesthetic, innovative features, and performance-driven ethos. The concept was placed in Nike's typical contexts, such as athletic and lifestyle environments, to capture the essence of their branding. This exploration deepened my understanding of designing products that resonate with a brand's identity, showcasing how to seamlessly adapt functional objects to a specific design framework.

Design language and branding

Nikes bright colours and use of ridges and distortions of shapes where mirrored in the hairdryer to create a distinct silhouette and recognisable aesthetic.

To fit within Nikes typical environments this hairdryer was designed for portability and for use in a gym bathroom post shower. The removal of the handle allows for the product to be carried in the user’s bag to and from the gym.
